Kitsap Housing for All is putting on a canvassing training regarding the knowledge and skills needed for upcomings canvassing events at mobile home parks across Kitsap county. The goal of this training is to learn the basics of the new housing bill 1217, which limits the amount landlords can raise rent. We will also be going over general “Know Your Rights” material to give out to mobile home park community members. We want to communicate to mobile home owners their rights from the new housing bill and guide them toward available resources if they find that they may have been financially taken advantage of by their landlords. We will discuss what we learned from our recent canvassing event and what to anticipate at future canvassing events. New canvassers will always be paired up with more experienced people, so if this is your first time - we will be there to support you too!
